Residential Care Coordinator - Registered Nurse or Endorsed Enrolled Nurse

The De La Salle Brothers are seeking an experienced and compassionate Residential Care Coordinator (Registered Nurse or Endorsed Enrolled Nurse) to provide direct, hands-on nursing care, health monitoring and care coordination for elderly residents living within a religious community in Kensington NSW.

This is a part-time position of 32 ordinary hours per week, worked over four days per week, typically from 7:00am to 3:30pm.

The successful candidate will have an appreciation of, and respect for, the teachings and values of the Catholic Church and an understanding of the community life of members of Religious Congregations.

Please note that this is a direct care role and not a traditional management position. The successful candidate will personally provide clinical care and support to residents rather than manage a team of nursing or care staff.

About us

The De La Salle Brothers are a Religious Institute in the Catholic Church. They were founded in France in 1680 by John Baptist De La Salle primarily for the education of the poor and have since spread throughout the world.  There are currently 36 Brothers in five communities throughout Sydney, in Bankstown, Castle Hill, Cronulla, and Kensington (2).  Many of the Brothers are now aging and have retired.

The role

As the Residential Care Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the health, wellbeing and independence of elderly residents living within a welcoming religious community. This is a hands-on role responsible for delivering direct nursing care, conducting clinical assessments, administering medications, monitoring health needs and coordinating care services.

Working closely with residents, healthcare providers and community leaders, you will provide proactive, person-centred care that enhances quality of life while respecting the dignity, independence and values of the Catholic Church. This position offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships and make a genuine difference in the lives of older people in a supportive and community-focused environment.

About you

This is a unique opportunity for a nurse who enjoys working autonomously, building meaningful relationships and providing personalised care in a community-based environment. As the ideal candidate you will meet the following key requirements:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Endorsed Enrolled Nurse

  • Current CPR certification

  • Ability to manage competing clinical and operational priorities within a sole-practitioner community environment.

  • Experience working with elderly or aged care populations

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and provide direct clinical care without on-site nursing or care staff support.

  • Ability to coordinate care across multiple providers

  • Ability to handle sensitive issues with tact, discretion, and confidentiality

  • Flexible approach to work and working hours and willingness to travel around Sydney

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

  • Current National Police Check

  • Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel

  • Full Australian working rights

If you meet the above Key Requirements and have an appreciation of the ethos and culture of Catholic religious life and mission, and a personal desire to support the elderly to live valued and meaningful lives, then we would love to hear from you!

Preferred candidates will be required to undertake a National Criminal History Record Check prior to employment.
