A genuine leadership opportunity for an experienced ecologist who wants more autonomy, a bigger platform, and a real say in shaping the future of a high performing team. Our client is a major environmental focussed consultancy with a substantial ecology presence across NSW and nationally.

What's in it for you

• A significant team to lead. Step into a senior technical and leadership role overseeing a sizeable ecology team across NSW, with the scope to shape how the practice operates and grows.
• A genuine path to national leadership. This isn’t a ceiling role. There’s a clear runway to extend your influence and technical leadership beyond NSW into a national capacity now or in the future.
• A strong and secured pipeline. You’ll be stepping into an established and growing portfolio of projects across NSW, not starting from scratch chasing work.
• Major renewables exposure. A large share of the pipeline is renewables driven, giving you the chance to work on some of the most significant energy transition projects in the state.
• A close knit, high calibre team. This is a collaborative, well-regarded group rather than a large impersonal division. You’ll know the people you’re leading and have the room to mentor them properly.
• Reward that matches the seniority of the role. An attractive remuneration package is on offer, reflective of the experience and leadership this position calls for.

The role

You'll provide senior technical direction and strategic oversight across a broad range of ecological projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and senior leadership. The role carries real influence over project delivery, technical quality, client relationships and the development of your people, alongside a clear stake in the practice's broader growth strategy.

About you

• Extensive ecological consulting experience, with a track record of leading complex, multidisciplinary projects
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to build long term client relationships
• A collaborative leadership style with genuine interest in developing technical talent - the team want you to support and champion their learning and growth
• Relevant degree qualification
