We are a leading national Logistics and Warehousing business looking for a capable Business Intelligence Data Analyst to lead the development, implementation, and management of our data, reporting, and analytics capabilities. This hands-on, full-time role (5 days per week, based at our Sydney office in Wetherill Park) reports directly to the CIO and works collaboratively across business functions to deliver operational and strategic insights that drive performance and continuous improvement.
About the RoleThis is a hands-on role with full ownership of our BI function, from source data through to a report a business user can confidently act on. You’ll work end-to-end: understanding what the business needs, finding and validating the right data, building robust solutions, and making sure they land well with the people using them.
You’ll operate with a high degree of autonomy, taking direction on priorities and running with them, managing your own workload, and knowing when to bring decisions upward rather than push ahead alone. We’re looking for someone who brings maturity and judgement alongside their technical capability, and who is genuinely curious about how the broader business and its systems work.
What You’ll Do• Partner with stakeholders across the business: to translate incomplete or high-level briefs into well-considered reporting solutions
• Apply sound knowledge of transport and logistics operations to fill gaps, make informed assumptions, and present and justify your approach back to the business
• Work across the full data stack: from source systems and data structures through joins, aggregations, and transformations to a polished, well-tested output
• Build high-quality Power BI dashboards and reports, owning validation and testing end-to-end before anything goes out the door
• Write and optimise SQL and use Power Query and DAX to shape and model data effectively
• Optimise ETL pipelines, automate reporting workflows, and maintain data quality and data governance
• Involved with system integrations, EDI and other.
• Act as the go-to resource for reporting queries, resolving issues promptly and improving existing solutions
What You’ll Bring• 3+ years delivering BI reports in a production environment
• Strong, hands-on SQL skills
• Solid proficiency in Power BI, Power Query, and DAX
• Experience with Python for analysis and automation
• A proven ability to take a reporting need from a non-technical stakeholder through to a reliable, adopted solution; including scoping, building, validating, and explaining your approach through to production delivery.
• Confidence in data validation and accuracy
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills; able to communicate technical concepts clearly
• A track record of driving reporting adoption through demonstrated business value
Nice to Have• Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse architecture experience
• Familiarity with ERP or transport management systems
• Power Automate and/or SharePoint
• Familiarity with AI and/or machine learning
