A large engineering company that designs, manufactures, and builds more than 5 industrial engineering products used globally has a requirement for an Electrical Design Engineer.  

This role offers a great balance between the drawing office and the shop floor. You will be responsible for producing detailed electrical designs, collaborating closely with the manufacturing and production team to ensure new special-purpose machinery builds are practical, and assisting with plant upgrades.

Daily:

• Drafting & Documentation: The role is focused on producing detailed electrical drawings and documentation using AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical. 
• Design Work: Create schematics, single-line diagrams, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, switchboard drawings.
• Manufacture & Install: Oversee comprehensive manufacturing documentation, BOMs, and more. 
• (DFM) Design for Manufacturability: Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams so designs are practical to build, not just theoretical drawings.
• Reverse Engineering: Walk the factory floor, auditing existing plant assets to map, trace, and update electrical schematics in support of upcoming facility upgrades.

About you:

• Degree qualified.
• Someone who can complete electrical designs, not just coordinating drafts & projects. 
• Strong AutoCAD Electrical / AutoCAD capability. 
• At least 3 years of experience producing and updating schematics, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, panel layouts, cable schedules, and design documentation.
• Industrial manufacturing or production electrical background LV systems, control panels, switchboards, MCCs, VSDs, motors, instrumentation, maybe some MV exposure.
• An Engineer who can or wants to support projects through the design lifecycle, documentation, build support, testing, commissioning and continuous improvement.
