This is a fantastic role for an experienced Building Estimator within residential, or a Carpenter who has done estimates/quotes, to work as a Building Estimator and commence your career in our Estimating team.

Reporting to the Building Estimating Team Leader, your responsibilities will include:

• Producing accurate bill of quantities for builds
• Troubleshooting potential site issues
• Ensuring production work is carried out in a timely manner
• Maintaining a thorough knowledge of Metricon products, services and processes to deal confidently with all stakeholders
• Identify anomalies in standard BOQ’s and arrange for them to be amended and amendments recorded in masters
• Checking invoices that exceed contract budgets to avoid margin erosion
• Ensuring relationships with internal and external customers, supervisors, suppliers, trades people, agents and contractors are maintained and improved

The successful candidate will have:

• At minimum a Diploma in Building Construction is essential, a degree in an equivalent course is of added advantage.
• 1-2 years’ experience Building Estimating in residential construction
• Reasonable trade background is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of construction processes and details.
• Competent Microsoft Office suite computer skills, particularly in Excel.
• Working knowledge of an estimating system (Business Craft, Timberline and WMS would be advantageous)
