At Sulzer, we don't just adapt to change, we drive it. With nearly 200 years of innovation and a global footprint spanning 180 facilities, we deliver world-class engineering solutions that keep critical industries moving.

At Sulzer Australia, our teams support essential rotating equipment across power generation, petrochemicals, mining, and heavy manufacturing. Quality isn't a function here, it's fundamental to how we operate.

We’re looking for a proactive Quality Advisor to work closely with our workshop teams, providing leadership, guidance, and oversight to uphold quality standards across operations. This role can be based at our Maitland, New Castle or Sydney locations.

If you enjoy being in the detail, driving continuous improvement, and making a tangible impact, then this role is for you.

📣 The Role

This is a hands-on quality role with real influence. You'll partner closely with operational teams to strengthen compliance, enhance processes, and embed a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

From leading audits to coaching leaders and investigating non-conformances, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our Integrated Management System (IMS) remains effective and aligned with certification requirements.

⚙️ What You'll Do

  • Conduct internal audit programs and support external certification audits

  • Support the rollout of quality strategies and initiatives

  • Investigate non-conformances, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions

  • Support the ongoing implementation and governance of IMS

  • Provide expert quality advice to leaders and operational teams

  • Develop and coordinate quality compliance plans and training initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, policies, and regulations

✅ About You

You're pragmatic, detail-oriented, and confident influencing stakeholders at all levels. You don't just identify problems, you solve them.

You bring:

  • Experience in mechanical, or electrical environments

  • Strong working knowledge of quality systems and certification standards

  • The confidence to engage leaders and challenge the status quo

  • Excellent time management and communication skills

  • A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement

📝 Qualifications & Experience

  • Lead Auditor qualification (ISO 9001 highly regarded)

  • Trade or engineering qualification strongly preferred (electrical is advantageous)

  • Experience implementing quality or continuous improvement systems

  • Highly desirable: experience in Ex certification (IECEx 60079.19 and AS/NZS 3800) and strong understanding of AC/DC electric motors.

⭐ Performance-based bonus scheme that genuinely rewards impact and results
⭐ Company-provided phone, laptop, and corporate credit card
⭐ Employee Assistance Program to support your wellbeing

⭐ Highly collaborative environment with strong operational influence
⭐ Part of a global organisation offering long-term career development opportunities
