Supporting the Policy, Strategy and Governance Division, this role provides the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders and play a key role in finance business partnering, with a strong focus on communication, influence and stakeholder engagement.

About You

We are seeking a qualified finance professional with demonstrated management accounting experience in a complex commercial or public sector environment. You will bring:

• Strong verbal presence and presentation skills, with the ability to lead conversations, challenge constructively and drive outcomes
• Strong capability in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and management reporting
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail and data integrity
• Exceptional and highly developed communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, concise and compelling insights for diverse audiences
• A proven ability to engage, influence and build trust with senior stakeholders, confidently leading discussions and shaping decisions
• Advanced writing skills, delivering clear, professional and well-structured reports, briefings and financial commentary
• Sound understanding of financial controls, governance and compliance requirements
• A collaborative approach, with accountability and ownership of deliverables

A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance, along with CA/CPA accreditation (or working towards), is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver clear, concise and impactful financial reporting and insights to support informed decision-making
• Effectively communicate financial performance, risks and opportunities, tailoring messages to senior executives and non-financial stakeholders
• Lead and facilitate discussions with stakeholders, providing trusted advice and influencing outcomes through strong communication
• Maintain and enhance financial governance, controls and compliance in line with accounting standards and NSW Treasury requirements
• Provide technical advice and lead financial submissions, ensuring clarity, accuracy and alignment with organizational and statutory objectives
